Diablo 4 Helltide: Why It Needs More Options for Level 100 Players
Diablo 4 is a game that offers players a vast and mysterious world to explore, fight, and craft their own adventure. The game also features a variety of endgame activities that players can engage in after completing the main campaign, such as World Tiers, Dungeons, World Events, and Helltides. However, not all endgame activities are equally satisfying or rewarding, especially for level 100 players who have reached the maximum level cap and have little incentive to progress further. In this blog post, I will focus on one of the endgame activities that I think needs more options for level 100 players: Helltide.
Helltide is a timed event that occurs every two hours and fifteen minutes in one of the five regions of Sanctuary. During a Helltide, the region becomes corrupted and invaded by demonic forces, changing the environment and the enemy types. Players can enter the Helltide area and participate in various objectives, such as killing monsters, completing events, interacting with world objects, or opening Tortured Chests. By doing so, players can earn Aberrant Cinders, a special currency that can be used to open Tortured Chests or trade with Doomsayer Pira for various rewards. Players can also find Living Steel, a rare material that can be used to summon Grigoire, one of the four new bosses that can drop Unique items.
Helltide sounds like a fun and exciting endgame activity, but there are some problems that make it less appealing for level 100 players. First of all, Helltide is only available in World Tier 3 and 4, which means that level 100 players have to lower their difficulty level to access it. This makes the Helltide less challenging and rewarding, as the enemies are weaker and the loot is lower quality. Secondly, Helltide is very time-consuming and repetitive, as players have to spend an hour in the same region, doing the same objectives, and fighting the same enemies. This can get boring and tedious, especially for level 100 players who have already seen and done everything in the game. Thirdly, Helltide is very random and unpredictable, as the location, the objectives, and the rewards are different every time. This can make it frustrating and disappointing, especially for level 100 players who are looking for specific items or materials, such as Living Steel.
Therefore, I think that Helltide needs more options for level 100 players, to make it more enjoyable and worthwhile. Here are some suggestions that I have:
- Allow level 100 players to access Helltide in any World Tier, not just World Tier 3 and 4. This way, level 100 players can choose their preferred difficulty level and get better loot and experience.
- Allow level 100 players to farm Living Steel in other endgame activities, not just Helltide. This way, level 100 players can have more ways to summon Grigoire and target farm Unique items, without having to wait for Helltide or rely on luck.
- Allow level 100 players to customize their Helltide experience, such as choosing the region, the objectives, and the rewards. This way, level 100 players can have more control and variety in their Helltide gameplay, and focus on what they want to do or get.
These are some of the ways that I think Helltide can be improved for level 100 players, and make it more fun and rewarding. I hope you enjoyed this blog post and learned something new about Diablo 4 and its endgame activities. Thank you for reading!
